The International Olympic Committee started a Knowledge Management Initiative to allow futur organizing countries to benefit from learned best practices. Reports, manuals and best practices will be created and distributed. Apprentice (observer) programs will be organized to allow people to learn and experience what happens during a real organization.
We (the knowledge management die-hards) would create a community of practice where previous, current, future and potential organizers could exchange their experience and knowhow on a peer-to-peer basis. A network where you can launch a question when there is no best practice manual written.
